Karen Teig Wimmer Memorial Scholarship

Established by her sons Alex and Jon Teig, former husband Bob Teig, & husband William Wimmer, the endowment supports first- and second-year students in the DMACC Realtime Court Reporting Program.

Karen was a life-long advocate for the profession she loved. She served on the Board and as President of the Iowa Court Reporter’s Association and was a Board member of the National Court Reporter’s Association. After her alma mater – American Institute of Business – closed, she helped establish and maintain the Des Moines Area Community College Realtime Court Reporting Program. Karen passed away in February 2022 after a six-month battle with acute onset leukemia.
