Melody Logan Riley Scholarship

Melody Logan Riley Scholarship

The Melody Logan Riley Scholarship was first established in honor of current DMACC employee, Melody Riley, and her father, Jerry, who passed away in 2011 from cancer. The scholarship was established by Melody’s great aunt and uncle and is intended to help single fathers complete their degree to better their lives for themselves and their children. By paying tuition and books for 1 semester for a single father’s education, the family hopes that the scholarship will take some of the stress off of the recipient so that they can focus on class work and their children during what can be a stressful time.

Melody has been married to her husband for 40 years (pictured above), and they have raised 6 children and now have 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. They enjoy being outdoors either taking long motorcycle rides, camping and fishing, and spending time with family whenever they can. Melody has been employed at DMACC for the past 15 years and enjoys cooking for family and friends. She has always enjoyed helping others to succeed in reaching their goals, which she has learned from her grandparents, parents, and aunts & uncles.
